There are a number of young professionals who aim to make a career in ERP but there are not many universities that offer a course in ERP although it is a very popular field and there will always be vacancies in various companies across the globe for ERP related jobs. A number of leading ERP providers conduct training courses on ERP modules. SAP is the leading provider of ERP training in India but the course is very expensive and the cost of course can range from Rs 1.5 lakhs to Rs 3 lakhs.

The course is attractive to people who want to make a career in ERP and therefore, a number professionals who want to shift from their core profession to this sector go for ERP training courses but there are a few drawbacks of these training courses.

The main drawback of these courses is that it does not guarantee success in career or an even job after completing the course, and a number of people are not benefited by making such expenses. Secondly, there are many fake institutions which do not provide proper guidance in ERP certifications.

There are also a number of students who get good jobs outside India after completing the course but a good experience in ERP related field and prior educational experience is important for success. The students going for such course should estimate the benefits and drawbacks before going for a course.

One can do an ERP course from SAP certified institutes or other reputed centers in India and you can select an institution depending on the city of residence. Young professionals can get training in functional and technical field depending on their educational background and work experience.



Leading institutes that provide ERP based course in India

1. Only two companies Genovate Solutions (I) Pvt Ltd and SISL (Siemens Information Systems Limited) are authorized SAP education partners of India and therefore for taking up a SAP course it is advised to take courses from these institutes.

2. Sapient College programmer offered in Mumbai and Bangalore are only authorized centers for SAP certification and SAP training by DUCAT is provide in Noida and New Delhi whereas CDAC provides training in Noida, Thiruvananthpuram and Kolkata.

3. A few legitimate partners of SAP training are VC ERP Consulting Pvt Ltd, Boston Software Consultant India Pvt Ltd, and Cognizant Technology Solutions India, Kauf Solutions India Pvt Ltd. and the centers are located in Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Nasik, Mangalore, Chandigarh, Madurai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Vishakhapatnam and Hyderabad.

4. Course are also offered by ICAI Delhi in ERP and the cost of some cheap certification courses can be around RS 5000 to Rs 15000 but a course from unreliable institutes is not very beneficial to get a job in ERP. The short term courses are aimed to provide information related to the ERP package and overview of what SAP training is all about.

There are a number of fields in which you can get job after finishing the course such as BI, material management, portals, Netweaver, System administration, ABAB - cross application software, HR, Sales and distribution, production planning and Financial accounting.
